Today is Thanksgiving. I hope you have a wonderful day with friends, family and all of your furry loved ones. Today, I'm thankful for my human family because they take good care of me. They feed me, play with me, love me, even when I'm crazy, give me treats and toys, take me to the vet when I'm sick (and sometimes when I'm not), snuggle with me and give me a great place to live. I'm even thankful for the cat!
But not all animals have something to be thankful today. Some are abused, abandoned or just not cared for. These are the animals that need the most. If you can, please spread a little of the coming weeks' holiday cheer to them, whether it's a donation of a bag of food or a visit to your local shelter to adopt a pet. (Remember, pets as holiday gifts can be very risky and should be well thought out. If you are going to give a pet, please consider a rescue.)
So have a wonderful day and don't forget to give your furry one a little extra love (but no turkey bones!)
